Selfish Sewing Week: Part 3

... and I finished off the week by making the Passport Jacket

Which, as evidenced by the wrinkly sleeves has also been worn.

Pattern: Lisette Passport Jacket (Simplicity 2209)
Size: 16 (no modifications)
Fabric: Lightweight stretch denim.

I'll be back soon with the end-of-month round up of the Little Things To Sew Cover To Cover Challenge. Does anyone remember that? All this sewing for the kids then me and April slipped by with only one project made (and not yet blogged anyway). Shame (shakes head). Anyone else dragging their feet and needing a prod with the encouraging stick?

  1. This jacket looks great. Well done. I may just have to try this pattern myself

    1. Thank you, I kind of wish I'd done something prettier on the insides, bound the seams or lined it. Just have to not take it off in public I guess!

    1. (blush). Thanks. I'm very flattered to have inspired you. To be honest that denim was meant to be for an Oliver + S Playdate dress like yours!

  3. The collar looks so pretty. Nice colour too.
I need a kick up the behind for my LTTS contributions. I haven't been sewing much at all recently, life is keeping me away from my machine.

    1. Thanks Katy. I have so many others things I should be doing. I could say that life is driving me towards my machine! There's escapism in sewing.

  4. I just love it! I don't know what the collar is called but it is fabulous. I really want to make the puppet show curtain. Maybe I will pick out fabric for it tonight. You already encouraged me.

    1. I hardly want to admit it, but I think it would be called a ruffle. Yes, I am wearing something with a ruffle. Hello, my name is Shelley and I am wearing a ruffle.... Perhaps it's a slippery slope from there, but I do solemnly swear I will never be seen wearing anything with ric-rac stitched onto it ;)

Just the curtain? or do you have an almost finished puppet theatre to go with it?

  7. I saw this project on Kollabora yesterday and have been drooling ever since! I have seen the pattern before, but was not too interested. After seeing your version of the jacket with the ruffle I am so going to buy the pattern! Absolutely love it!

  8. Oooh, I love it!! I have never been drawn to this pattern, but this is something I would wear all. the. time. at work - totally fits with my "work uniform." Hmmmmm ... I might have to branch out!
